These are first party persistent cookies which a life span of a few hours, the expiry time will update while you remain on the site then expire a few hours after you leave. This should enable you to build up a basket on our site and perhaps take a little time to check out our competitors if you would like. Each basket cookie will be deleted after it expires or once a purchase is complete. You account status cookie will also expire and be deleted after the same period or be deleted when you click the log out option on our site.
Functional cookies remember preferences a user selects on the site to stop them having to repeat the same tasks, they normally first part cookies and often last for a longer periods of time.
We only use one of these types of cookies. If you dismiss the cookie information box that hovers at the side of the screen or read the attached information and close it down a cookie is be stored to remember that you have seen and dismissed it. It stores a number '1' as it doesn't actually require any data we just want to know that you've seen it.
As we do not expect our cookie policy to change significantly we have set this cookie to remain in place for 12 months. If we change our cookie policy significantly we may change the behaviour of the cookie and the pop up to make sure people get prompted to take another look.
We use Google Analytics to track user movement on our site in order to improve our site based on past usage. Google will create persistent third party cookies in order to track the movements of our site visitors they last for a period of 2 years so we can see patterns in when users come and go to the site even if it is infrequently. This data does not identify you as an individual but if you do not wish if you do not wish us to track you in this way please use this opt out tool.

Some of our web sites include a general Social Media tool provided by addthis.com. This tool allows you to post links to our site to a variety of places including your browser, an email or social media sites. This has been set to not store any cookies of it's own by default however but if you use this tool to connect to one of your social media accounts then that web site is likely going to create cookies in the process.
